What will Home-School Learning look like in Green 8?
In English this half term we are focusing on the story The Three Little Pigs, learning to anticipate and join in with repeated words and phrases as well as develop our story telling skills trying to retell the story if we can. We are learning how to answer questions about a story using symbols, words and non-verbal language such as pointing. You can help doing this at home using the symbols we are sending home with their reading books.
Every day your child will be sent home with a reading book that will be changed weekly, please try to read with your child every night and show them how to answer simple questions as well as reading for pleasure as often as you can.
In Maths we are continuing to develop our shape sense, using language to describe size such as big and small as well as beginning to think about how to describe weight by lifting and exploring objects.
In PSHE we are beginning to think about our feelings, how to describe the way we feel and what we can do when we are experiencing different feelings. You can help by talking about emotions with your child, as well as offering commentary on how others are feeling and talking to them about why this might be.
How can you share your child’s home-school learning with us?
- Send back any worksheets/activities/art work to school.
- Put videos and/or photographs onto See Saw (through the message section).
Here are some photos from Christmas jumper/lunch day.
