Events and Competitions

Throughout the year, pupils have opportunities to participate in a range of inter and intra school competitions and events. In addition to the North Tyneside PE and Sports SLA programme in association with the School Games, we are also affiliated to the Wanderers Association.

The Wanderers Sports Association is an organisation that provides a variety of sporting events and competitions for children and young people with SEN.

We aim to provide all of our pupils competitive opportunities and have participated in a range of different competitions and events this year.

Take a look at some of the competitions/events we have been involved in this year.

  • Basketball U11 competition.
  • Football U11 competition.
  • Rebound trampolining festival
  • Badminton festival
  • North Tyneside Dance Festival
  • Cross country event
  • Trial and Challenge orienteering event at the Rising Sun.
We have had a range of events and experience days in school this year.
David Guest GB athlete visit.
We enjoyed a visit from David Guest who is a GB decathlete. He delivered a fun and engaging fitness circuit with all classes, followed by an inspirational assembly and a question and answer session.
Pole Vault Day
In May, all classes had the opportunity of taking part in a 'Pole Vaulting experience day' with Chris and Charlie. Each class learnt about the sport and had the opportunity to learn the correct technique- run, hold, jump. We had a fantastic day and everyone challenged themselves to clear the bar!
Several pupils in blue zone have recently completed 'Bike ability L1' and 'Bike ability L2' award. The level 1 award took place on the school grounds and the level 2 award involved learning how to bike ride safely in the local area.
